About Rainkissed Ragdolls

My name is Alice and I grew up with several breeds of cats including Himalayans, Persians, and Abyssinians.  My mother and aunt were both cat breeders and this instilled a love of cats in me at an early age.  As an adult, I discovered the Ragdoll breed.  I feel Ragdolls are the “best of both worlds,” being that they have both gorgeous looks and great personalities!

Raising Ragdoll kittens is truly a family affair in our household!  My husband Jeff is very hands-on and also has a very tender heart towards all of the animals.  I’d say he has a harder time letting go of some of the kittens than I do, at times!  Jeff and I have been married for over 22 years and we are both fortunate enough to work from home which means our animals are never alone and gets TONS of love, attention and socialization!  Our animals are never caged and are raised underfoot as part of the family.

Jeff and I have 3 kids and the oldest is currently serving as a marine over in Okinawa, Japan!  Our other son is 18 and finishing up his senior year of high school.  He also has a very tender heart towards all of the animals and is very helpful with them and hands-on as well!  Our teenage daughter also enjoys kitten cuddles but the award for “best kitten helper” goes to her brother! ;)

Besides our animals having people to love on them 24/7, we also try to keep things very small here as far as our cattery goes.  To date I have 2 queens which is what I started with about 2 years ago.  I don’t plan to ever have more than 4 queens.  All of my breeding cats are TICA registered and genetically tested.  We provide early spay/neuter, immunizations, deworming, pedigree information and also references upon request.  Kittens will come altered and will be ready for their new homes around 12 wks. of age, depending.  It is Rainkissed Ragdoll’s mission to improve the Ragdoll breed by breeding the best candidates for health, size, personality, etc.

About Ragdolls

Ragdolls got their name due to the fact that they go limp when you pick them up, just like a child’s ragdoll toy.  They are known for being more docile and friendly, quiet, and will often follow their owner around hoping for some love and attention!  Ragdolls are considered indoor cats and should never be allowed outside unsupervised.  Ragdolls are known to be larger, sturdier cats with females that can reach 8-15 lbs. and males that can reach 12-20 lbs.

Ragdolls come in 3 types:  traditional, mink and sepia.  Traditional Ragdolls are mostly white with colorpoints.  There are 3 basic patterns of Ragdolls:  bicolor, mitted and colorpoint.  There are also other patterns such as the lynx pattern.  Ragdolls come in a rainbow of colors as well which include:  fawn, cream, cinnamon, red, lilac, chocolate, blue and seal.  Full color does not develop until around 2 years old.  Ragdoll fur is incredibly soft, often compared to bunny fur, and it’s true!    Ragdolls have longer fur and many claim their fur never seems to mat!  I can attest that my 2 queens never get mats, now the Pomeranian we have is another story!  Pictured right is our beautiful queen Trixie, a chocolate point bicolor (while her color was still coming in).

“I brought home Milo about 10 days ago. He is such a sweet boy. I am so thankful to Alice for giving Milo such a great start. I can tell he was loved and cared for while she raised him. He was around her family and other pets and now in my home I see how he loves having visitors and has won the hearts of everyone who meets him. After I selected Milo, Alice answered all my questions and was so helpful with advice and suggestions. I would highly recommend Rainkissed Ragdolls. I had a great experience and Milo and I thank Alice.”

He always wants to be in the action and around our family and is so cuddly! “I brought home my sweet kitten a couple of weeks ago and I can tell he was raised in a loving home because he always wants to be around me and is so well behaved! Alice was extremely receptive and gave so many details on how the kittens were doing and how well they were growing. I 1000% recommend coming here for your sweet little fur balls! It’s nice being so involved in the kittens life before even meeting the little one! Thank you so much, Alice!”

“In addition to breeding and raising healthy, beautiful kittens, they worked with us to find the right fit for our home and personalities. All the genetic testing put my heart at ease and they were in contact regularly. We adore our new kitty and cannot believe how much we lucked out. Anyone would be very lucky to have a Rainkissed Ragdoll!”

“We had such a great experience with Alice! She was so communicative and kind. We are first time cat owners and she went above and beyond to make sure we were prepared to take care of our little kitten. She sent picture and video updates before we picked up our cat, and asked for updates from us after. She cares so deeply for all of the kittens and cats at Rainkissed Ragdolls. Our little cat, Mila, is the sweetest, most loving, curious, silly little cat. We know that Alice took time to make sure Mila was well taken care for as a kitten, which has turned her into the best cat ever! We’re planning to add another little kitten to the family and Rainkissed Ragdolls is the obvious choice!”
